Sustainability is not just a passing trend for SILON. On the contrary, it is our inner strength that has improved our performance in all areas over the long term.
Since 2021, we have been taking measures in line with ESG principles to ensure a good quality of life for current and future generations. As part of this strategy, we have also set ourselves the ambitious goal of climate neutrality by 2050.

Reducing greenhouse
gas emissions
By 2025, we plan to build a PV power plant that will cover at least 15% of our total electricity consumption. In the same year, we also want to transfer to LED lighting in 100% of our operations.
By 2030, we would like for 100% of our company fleet to be made up of electric vehicles, and use only electric forklifts at our plants.
Waste management
We are gradually improving the management of water resources to reduce the intensity of their use or mitigate the risk of pollution.
By 2030, we plan to reduce consumption by 3% of total water consumption relative to the tonnes of products and semi-finished products. At the same time, we want to invest in the possibility of closing cooling circuits by that year.
Circular economy
Our goal is to maximize resource efficiency and minimize waste. We therefore strive to make sophisticated use of recycled materials as the primary or secondary input in the manufacture of products.
By 2025, with the help of R&D, we aim to develop new products that are built specifically from recycled materials. At the same time, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of the companies involved in our supply chain.
Introduction of innovations
We plan to complete the reconstruction of our laboratories and provide new equipment by 2023. This will allow us to focus effectively on the use of recycled inputs along with production efficiency and new product development.
By 2025, we aim to create a new product line that makes greater use of recyclable ingredients. We also want to install a pilot online product quality control system by 2025.
Compliance with environmental legislation
At all times, we ensure compliance with local and international laws, regulations or standards to protect environmental standards. We continuously update our overview of new draft regulations and incorporate them into our processes.
Our goal is to comply with 100% of legislative requirements and to achieve a situation where we have no incidents against legislation with monetary penalties.
Health and safety
Last but not least, we are also dedicated to the protection of the health and safety of our employees. We are constantly improving risk management at work, but we also regularly implement campaigns that raise awareness of occupational safety.
