Chess has long been cherished for its ability to sharpen the mind and improve cognitive skills. The ancient Persians valued it for enhancing intellectual ability and decision-making — a belief that still holds true today.
The SILON Charity Chess Tournament combines this love of chess with a noble cause: supporting the Alzheimer Centre Clementas, which cares for people living with Alzheimer's disease.
First held in 2024, we received a positive response from participants, who appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and beautiful location. Encouraged by this initial success, we're excited to continue the tournament and build it into a cherished tradition.
Players of all skill levels are welcome to join us - from beginners to grandmasters. While there’s no admission fee, we encourage personal or corporate donations to support this important work.
