Deputy Purchasing Manager

The main job

• stands in for the Head of Procurement in their absence
• supports the Head of Procurement in leading and motivating the procurement team
• helps to prepare and implement the SILON Group's strategic procurement plans
• helps to set annual goals for strategic procurement
• shares responsibility for setting and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) in the area of strategic procurement
• helps prepare and present strategic procurement results
• prepares documentation for tenders and price negotiations with existing and potential suppliers; seeks out new suppliers
• organises tendering processes for suppliers of raw materials and packaging
• drafts and reviews commercial contracts
• oversees supplier development
• prepares documentation for supplier audits, ISO audits, and other certifications

We expect

• high school or college degree
• excellent knowledge of English required
• knowledge of another language is an advantage
• proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• understanding of commercial law and the rules governing commercial relationships
• experience in purchasing or sales within a manufacturing company
• excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
• independence, responsibility and a proactive and responsible approach to work
• class B driver's license
• willingness and ability to travel independently (by car or plane)
• ability to work under pressure
• ability and willingness to learn new things
